Israa Ali
MANAGING DIRECTOR
NILE HARVEST
Israa Ali brings personal history and management experience to bear as Co-founder and Managing Director of Nile Harvest. She has felt and observed the plight of many women struggling in low-income economies of Sub-Saharan Africa.
Nile Harvest is a platform created to bring African female farmers agricultural products to markets in the United States. She wants to facilitate the connection between African agricultural providers and American tastes for fair trade items and exotic grains.
Israa uses 8-years’ experience in operations and supply chain management to support her passion and commitment to creating, developing, and supporting an enriched role for women entrepreneurs.
She sees unique potential in training, financing, and supporting African women in agrarian environments. She knows first-hand their desire to improve the plight of their families. She respects their passion to nurture their children for better futures. And, she shares their need for financial independence and the social independence that follows.
Israa also finds that women working with women will form a productive chain of collaboration, production, quality control, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction. Nile Harvest™ introduces technology to expedite this supply chain for online shopping, ordering, and delivering the Nile River’s unique treasures.
The bounty of the Nile River and its rich deposits create extraordinary soils the length of the ancient waterway includes Hibiscus, Baobab, Gum Arabic, Sesame, and more. The grounds bear nutritious and large harvests natives have used for eons for food, medicines, and cosmetics. Israa and the women of Africa want to bring that bounty to the U.S.
A graduate in Biomedical Engineering from The University of Medical Sciences & Technology (Sudan), Israa Ali was Supply Chain Manager at Almak Medical Equipment Trading for eight years. She is also co-founder of S4F Solutions which assesses, improves, and monitors social impact programs to ensure recipients enjoy the intended benefits.
